Is the white DDJ-FLX4-W the same as the black DDJ-FLX4?

Yes. Pioneer DJ lists the same specs and the same 2.1 kg weight, and both use the same manual. The difference is the white limited-edition finish.

Which is better for a beginner?

Either one. Smart Fader adjusts volume, bass and BPM for you and turns on Beat Sync, and Smart CFX puts effects on one knob. The controls are identical on both.

Does the white version cost more?

No. Both were $339.00 at Amazon as of November 3, 2026, and both hit $329.00 on October 31, 2026.

Can I use it without a laptop?

No. It is a controller, so the music and DJ software run on the connected PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad or Android device over USB-C.

Does it work with Serato?

Yes. Serato DJ Lite is free; Serato DJ Pro needs a license or subscription. rekordbox and djay are also supported.

Which one should I buy?

Buy on color and stock. The white model has 3 stores listing it new versus 1 for the black, at the same price.
