Is the 256GB iPad 9th Gen worth it over the 64GB?

Yes for most people. 256GB leaves room for apps, games and offline video, and Product A costs $229 versus $379.85 for the 64GB listing as of November 4, 2026.

Do these two iPads have the same performance?

Yes. Both use the A13 Bionic chip with 3GB of RAM and the same 10.2-inch 2160 x 1620 display, so speed and screen are identical.

Which lasts longer on a charge?

They are rated the same: about 10 hours of web browsing or video. Real battery health depends on the individual unit, which matters more for the pre-owned one.

Is a pre-owned iPad a bad idea?

Not necessarily. Check battery health, activation lock status and return policy. A pre-owned 256GB unit at $229 can be better value than a 64GB unit at $379.85.

Can I use an Apple Pencil with either?

Yes, both support the first-generation Apple Pencil, which charges through the Lightning port. Neither works with the USB-C Apple Pencil or Pencil 2.

Which is better for kids or schoolwork?

Either works for notes, reading and video calls. The 256GB model handles more downloaded content and games, while the 64GB model needs more cloud storage.
