Which kit is better for a homeowner starting from scratch?

Kit B, because two batteries let you keep working without waiting on a charge. Kit A saves $40 but you will likely buy a second battery, which can erase the savings.

Is the brushless motor worth it?

Kit A's brushless impact driver and multi-tool run longer per charge and need less maintenance than brushed motors. Kit B lists a brushed motor, which is fine for light to medium drilling but less efficient.

Kit A lists a 3-year limited warranty; kit B does not state a warranty term in its specs. Battery count matters more day to day: kit B's two packs mean less strain on a single battery.

Is kit A worth the extra over kit B?

Kit A is actually cheaper: $349.00 at Amazon versus $389.00 at eBay as of November 4, 2026. The extra money on kit B buys a second battery, a fast charger and a contractor bag.

Do the tools in both kits match?

Yes. Both list a 1/2-in drill/driver, 1/4-in impact driver, 6-1/2-in circular saw, reciprocating saw and 3-speed oscillating multi-tool on the same 20V MAX battery platform.

Can I use my existing DeWalt 20V batteries?

Yes. Both kits use the DeWalt 20V MAX lithium-ion platform, so older 20V MAX packs fit either kit's tools.
