Are these two helmets actually different?

They are the same FF901 Advant X platform in a carbon shell. The difference is the finish: a graphic scheme on the Future and plain gloss carbon on the Solid Carbon.

Which is better value?

The Advant X Carbon Future. At the listed prices it costs $338.02 at Champion Helmets versus $599.98 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, for the same shell and flip-up design.

Is the Solid Carbon worth the extra money?

Only if the plain carbon look matters to you. You get no extra safety certification or features for the roughly $260 premium.

LS2 lists 1.55 kg for the Solid Carbon. No weight is listed for the Future, but both use a carbon shell, so expect them to be close.

Do both have a sun visor?

Yes. Both list an integrated internal sun visor, and the Future also ships with a dark smoke visor and Pinlock MaxVision.

Can I ride with the chin bar up?

The Future's chin bar rotates 180 degrees to the back of the helmet, so you can ride open-face. The Solid Carbon is also a flip-up, but its rotation range is not stated.
