Which is better for fruit flies in a kitchen?

The Flying Insect Trap. It runs continuously and lures fruit flies onto the adhesive cartridge without spraying anything near food areas. The spray is not for surfaces where food is prepared, stored or eaten.

Which one kills ants and roaches?

The Multi Insect Killer Spray. It lists ants, roaches and spiders as targets and kills on contact. The trap only targets flying insects.

Is the trap worth the extra cost over the spray?

They solve different problems, so it is not a straight upgrade. The trap's lowest recent price was $19.97 on November 1, 2026, and it gives round-the-clock catch of small flies. The spray gives an instant kill but no ongoing protection.

The trap keeps working while plugged in, with a cartridge reminder every 6 weeks. The spray is a 12 oz can used as needed, so how long it lasts depends on how often you spray.

Are either safe around kids and pets?

The spray is stated safe for humans and pets when used as directed. The trap uses no airborne spray, and one reviewer was not worried about kids handling it.

Will the trap's blue light bother me at night?

Possibly. It uses blue and UV light, and one reviewer said she did not love having blue light in her home. Place it where the glow is out of sight.
