About the Btl Expandable Hardside Checked Upright Luggage

The Btl Expandable Hardside Checked Upright is a compact polycarbonate suitcase with a two-inch expansion zip, eight Hinomoto spinner wheels and a built-in combination lock. It weighs 7.6 lb and measures 20 x 14 x 9.5 inches unexpanded, so despite the "checked" name it is carry-on sized. The best new price is $99 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is no recent price range to compare against.

Questions and answers

Is this bag carry-on or checked size?
At 20 x 14 x 9.5 inches it fits most US carry-on limits. Despite the "checked" name, it is not a large checked bag.
Is the lock TSA-approved?
No. The built-in combination lock is not TSA-approved, so US screeners may have to cut it open if they need to inspect the bag.
How much does the expansion add?
The expansion zip adds 2 inches of depth, giving extra room for souvenirs on the return trip.
Is $99 a good price?
Walmart lists it at $99 as of November 5, 2026, and it is the only store selling it new, so there is no recent range to compare. Judge it against similar polycarbonate spinners, which often run $100 to $150.
What is in the box?
The suitcase itself. No lock keys are needed because the lock is a combination type, and no packing cubes or accessories are listed.
How much does it weigh?
7.6 lb empty, which is light for a hard-shell bag this size.
