Cons
  • ABS plastic is less durable than polycarbonate or aluminum and can crack under hard impact
  • Hardshell has no exterior pockets for quick-access items
  • Only a middle zip divider, no compression straps or built-in organization
  • Button closure on the shell rather than a zip-around design
  • Spinner wheels are a common failure point on budget cases

What reviewers say

  • 4.4 / 5244 ratings

Rated 4.4 out of 5 from 244 ratings, buyers generally find the Dori a solid value for the money. Praise centers on the light weight, easy rolling and the expandable section. Complaints tend to be about durability of the shell and wheels over time.

  • DurabilityCriticisedSome owners report scuffs and cracks in the ABS shell after rough baggage handling.

Questions and answers

Does it fit major airline carry-on limits?
At 21.5 x 14 x 9.5 inches it fits most US domestic carry-on limits, which are typically 22 x 14 x 9 inches. Expanded to 11.25 inches deep it may exceed some limits, so check your airline before a full flight.
Is the Dori worth it at $49.59?
At $49.59 at Kohl's as of November 6, 2026, it is a low-cost hardshell carry-on with a TSA lock and spinner wheels. Expect basic durability; it suits occasional travelers more than frequent flyers.
What is the difference between standard and expanded depth?
Standard depth is 9.5 inches; expanding adds about 1.75 inches, to 11.25 inches. That gives extra packing room but can push the bag over some airline size limits.
Does it have a TSA lock?
Yes, it has a built-in TSA-approved combination lock, so security can open it without breaking the shell.
How much does it weigh and how much can it hold?
It weighs 6.3 lbs empty. The listed packed weight is 35 lbs, so keep total weight under your airline's limit, commonly 50 lbs for checked bags.
What is in the box?
The listing is for a single carry-on case. It includes the built-in TSA lock and telescopic handle; packing cubes and other accessories are not included.
