About the Sunnybay Drone with Camera for Adults 4K Foldable FPV Quadcopter

The Sunnybay is a folding camera drone aimed at adults who want 4K video without a big spend. It weighs under 249 g, so it needs no FAA registration, and brushless motors should outlast the brushed motors on cheap toy drones. Two batteries give about 30 minutes total flight time, and the kit includes a carrying case. The listing gives no price or store, and no price history, so there is nothing to compare today's cost against.

    Questions and answers

Do I need to register this drone with the FAA?
No. It weighs under 249 g, which keeps it under the FAA registration threshold for recreational flights. You still have to follow FAA rules such as staying under 400 feet and away from airports.
How long can it fly on the included batteries?
The two batteries together give about 30 minutes of flight time, so roughly 15 minutes per battery. Buy a spare if you plan long sessions.
Does the 4K camera have a gimbal?
No gimbal is listed. Expect usable footage in calm air, but video will show shake in wind or fast turns.
    What comes in the box?
The drone, remote controller, two batteries, a Type-C charging cable, a carrying case and a color box.
Is this a good first drone?
Yes, if you want simple photos and video. Automatic takeoff and gesture shooting keep it easy, but there is no GPS return-to-home, so fly it close and in open space.
    When is it cheapest?
No price or store is listed here, so there is no price history to time a purchase against. Check the price across stores before buying.
