Is the TOPVISION SS01 worth $29.89?

At that price it is a cheap way to get louder TV sound in a small room. Expect basic sound, not surround or deep bass.

Does it connect to a TV with HDMI?

The listing emphasizes Bluetooth and 50 watts; HDMI ARC is not stated. Check the input list before buying if you need one-cable TV control.

Can I use it as a Bluetooth speaker for music?

Yes. Bluetooth streaming from a phone or tablet is one of its main selling points.

How does it compare with a soundbar from a major brand?

Major-brand bars add HDMI, dialogue modes and subwoofer options at several times the price. This one is a basic loudspeaker bar.
