Is the 12.9-inch iPad Pro worth it over the 11-inch?

If you draw, edit video or split-screen apps, the extra screen space is the main reason to pay more. For reading and streaming, the 11-inch model is easier to hold.

How does it compare with the iPad Air?

The Pro has a larger, higher-resolution screen and a 12 MP rear camera. The Air is lighter and cheaper, which suits most casual users.

How long does the battery last?

Apple rates it at 10 hours of web browsing or video. Drawing with the Pencil and high screen brightness will cut that noticeably.

Does it work with the Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard?

Yes, it supports the Apple Pencil and Apple's keyboard covers for this size. Check that accessories are listed for the 12.9-inch model, since older ones may not fit.

What comes in the box?

The tablet, a USB power adapter and a charging cable. The Pencil and keyboard are sold separately.

Prices tend to drop around back-to-school season and major sales events, and again when a newer model launches. Compare the current price against its recent range before buying.

About the Apple 12.9-inch iPad Pro Wi-Fi

The 12.9-inch iPad Pro is Apple's largest tablet, built around a 2732 x 2048 Liquid Retina display and aimed at drawing, note-taking, video and multitasking rather than casual browsing. It weighs 24.4 oz, runs iPadOS, and pairs a 12 MP rear camera with a 7 MP front camera. Battery life is rated at 10 hours from a 9,720 mAh cell, and the 4 GB of RAM suits most apps but shows its age under heavy multitasking. It is a large, premium tablet, so its price sits well above mid-range tablets and only makes sense if you will use the screen and stylus support.
