Is the HP Essential 17.3 good for everyday use?

Yes for web browsing, email, video and documents. The N100 and 8 GB RAM struggle with heavy multitasking, gaming or video editing.

Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?

RAM on N100 laptops is usually soldered, so plan on 8 GB for life. The 128 GB drive can often be swapped for a larger SSD, but check the service manual first.

Is the screen good for watching video?

The 17.3-inch size and anti-glare coating suit streaming, but 1600 x 900 is below full HD, so fine detail looks soft.

Does it have a backlit keyboard and fingerprint login?

Yes, both are included, along with an HDMI port for an external display.

Is $459.99 a good price?

It is the best new price across six stores as of November 7, 2026, but it is high for an N100 laptop. Similar 15.6-inch models often sell for less.

What comes in the box?

The laptop and its power adapter. A stylus is not included, and the touchscreen works with a finger.
