Is the Acer Nitro V 15 worth it?

Yes, if you want 1080p gaming at 165Hz without spending much. At $809.00 at Walmart as of November 2 it is near its recent low, and the RTX 4050 and 16GB of RAM cover most modern games at medium to high settings.

Can it run modern games at 165fps?

Only lighter titles like esports shooters will approach 165fps. Demanding games will run closer to 60 to 90fps at 1080p, and DLSS helps in supported titles.

How much RAM and storage can I add?

RAM is upgradeable to 32GB, so you can add a second 16GB stick. The 512GB SSD can be swapped or supplemented depending on the open M.2 slots.

How is the battery life?

Acer claims up to 10 hours, which applies to light web browsing. Gaming on the RTX 4050 will drain it in a couple of hours, so keep the charger nearby.

What ports does it have?

It has USB-C, HDMI and Ethernet, plus Wi-Fi 6. There is no Thunderbolt port, so external display options are limited to HDMI.

When is the best time to buy it?

Its recent range ran from $809.00 to $899.00, so anything at or below $809 is a good buy. Holiday sales are the most likely time for further drops.
