Our take on the AmericanHomeCollection Microfiber Sheet Set, Gray, Twin

A twin-size sheet set in gray brushed microfiber, sold as a complete set with a fitted sheet, flat sheet and pillowcase. Microfiber is the budget pick for softness: it feels smooth and resists wrinkles and shrinking better than cotton, but it traps heat and is less breathable. It is aimed at kids' rooms, dorms and guest beds. The set holds a 4.7 out of 5 rating from about 4,100 ratings, so buyer feedback is strong and consistent.

Questions and answers

Is this sheet set worth it?
For a kids' room, dorm or guest bed, yes. It is inexpensive, soft and low-maintenance. If you sleep hot or want breathable cotton, spend more on percale.
Does it fit a deep mattress?
It is a standard twin fitted sheet, so it fits most twin mattresses. On pillow-top or extra-deep twins the corners may pull up.
What is included in the twin set?
One fitted sheet, one flat sheet and one pillowcase. The set does not include a comforter or pillow.
How does microfiber compare with cotton?
Microfiber is softer and more wrinkle-resistant at a lower price. Cotton breathes better and feels cooler, but costs more and wrinkles.
How should I wash it?
Machine wash cold with like colors and tumble dry low. Skip fabric softener and high heat, which can reduce softness and cause pilling.
When is it cheapest?
Back-to-school season and major sale events are when sheet sets like this are typically discounted most.
