The Abound SR ships as a Class II ebike, with pedal assist and throttle. The Abound SR will also operate with the throttle unplugged and removed, should you want to ride in an area where throttles are prohibited. Abound SR ebike and battery is UL Certified with UL 2849 for the ebike and UL 2271 for the battery.
Aventon ebikes are built to the IPX5-rated standard. An IPX5 rating means the bike is protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction. This provides a moderate level of water resistance, allowing you to ride in light to moderate rain or through small puddles. However, IPX5 does not mean waterproof—Aventon ebikes are not designed for full submersion. Avoid using a pressure washer or high-pressure sprayer to clean your ebike, as pressurized water can still damage components.
