Our take on the Best Choice Products Modern 88 Key Fully Weighted Desk Style Digital Piano with Metal Legs

The Best Choice Products Modern 88 Key is a budget console-style digital piano with fully weighted hammer-action keys, three pedals and a built-in lid, sold with metal legs. It offers 140 tones, USB and MIDI out, and a headphone jack, in a plastic and MDF cabinet that weighs 54.5 lb. At $319.99 at Target as of November 3, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent price range across the six stores that carry it new. It is the cheapest way to get a full 88-key weighted console, but the action and sound engine are entry level.

Best forBeginners and returning players who want weighted keys on a tight budgetHome practice with headphones in an apartmentA first console piano for a child taking lessonsBuyers who want three pedals and a lid without paying $600 or more
Pros
  • Full 88 weighted hammer-action keys at a price where most rivals are synth-action
  • Three pedals (soft, sustain, selective sustain) included
  • Built-in lid and metal legs give a furniture look
  • USB and MIDI out for connecting to apps and software
  • Headphone jack for silent practice
Cons
  • Plastic and MDF cabinet feels entry level next to name-brand consoles
  • 54.5 lb and 54 in wide, so it needs space and two people to move
  • 140 tones are mostly filler; the main piano sound is basic
  • No line outputs, only headphone jacks for audio out
  • Little published detail on polyphony and speaker wattage

Questions and answers

Is it worth buying over a cheaper 61-key keyboard?
Yes, if you plan to play piano music. The 88 weighted keys and three pedals let you build proper technique, which a 61-key synth-action keyboard cannot. If you only want to dabble, a cheaper keyboard is fine.
How does it compare with a Yamaha or Roland console?
It costs a fraction of the price and gives you the same layout, but the sound engine, key action and cabinet are clearly entry level. Buy this if budget decides; buy a name brand if touch and tone matter most.
Does it work with piano learning apps?
Yes. It has USB and MIDI out, so it can connect to apps and computer software that accept a MIDI keyboard. Check that your app supports MIDI Out over USB.
Can I practice without disturbing anyone?
Yes. Plug headphones into the headphone jack and the built-in speakers go quiet. There is no line output, so recording means going through the headphone jack or MIDI.
What is in the box?
The piano, metal legs, the three-pedal unit and assembly hardware. A bench and headphones are not included, so budget for those separately.
When is it cheapest?
It has been priced at $319.99 at Target as of November 3, 2026, near the bottom of its recent range. Holiday sales are the most likely time for a further drop, so compare the six stores before buying.
