Our take on the Casper Select 12" Memory Foam Mattress

The Casper Select 12" is a medium-firm memory foam mattress in Queen size (60 x 80 in) with a four-layer foam build, a breathable open-cell top layer and a cool-to-the-touch hand-sewn knit cover. It uses CertiPUR-US certified foam and a zoned support layer meant to firm up the middle for spinal alignment while cushioning shoulders and hips. The cover zips off and is washable. Its price has held at $799.89 at CitywideShop.com since October 28, 2026, so there is no discount to chase right now.

Questions and answers

Is the Casper Select 12" worth it at $799.89?
At $799.89 at CitywideShop.com as of October 28, 2026, it is a reasonable mid-range all-foam Queen. The price has not moved since that date, so waiting for a drop has not paid off recently.
How firm is the Casper Select 12"?
It is medium firm. Most side and back sleepers find it supportive, while stomach sleepers and people who want a very firm bed may find it too soft.
Does it sleep hot?
The open-cell top layer and knit cover are designed for airflow, and many owners find it acceptable. Memory foam still traps some heat, so hot sleepers should weigh that.
What is in the box?
The mattress only. A bed frame, foundation, pillows and bedding are not included and must be bought separately.
Does the cover come off?
Yes. The hand-sewn knit cover zips off and can be washed, which is uncommon on foam mattresses at this price.
What size and weight is the Queen?
The Queen measures 60 by 80 inches and weighs about 85 lbs. Plan for two people to move or rotate it.
Is the Casper Select 12" Memory Foam Mattress at its lowest price?
The lowest price we've seen is $799.89 at CitywideShop.com on October 28.
