Our take on the CHITA Keaton Performance Fabric 3-Seater Sofa with Wood Base

The CHITA Keaton is a 99-inch-wide three-seat sofa in linen-look performance fabric with a solid ash wood base and a kiln-dried hardwood frame. It stands out for a 900 lb weight capacity, 24-inch seat depth, and water-repellent fabric rated at 20,000 rubs, with loose reversible cushions and zip-off covers. The seat is built on a high-density foam core wrapped in feather and fiber, and the only assembly is attaching the legs. Its price has held flat at $1,275.99 since October 31, 2026, so there is no discount to chase right now.

Best forHouseholds with kids or pets who need spill-resistant fabricTall or deep-seat sitters who want a 24-inch seat depthMid-century modern living rooms with room for a 99-inch sofaBuyers who want a high weight capacity and easy leg-only assembly
Pros
  • Water-repellent performance fabric with a 20,000 rub count
  • 900 lb weight capacity, high for a fabric sofa
  • Deep 24-inch seats with a 19-inch seat height
  • Solid ash wood base and kiln-dried hardwood frame
  • Loose, reversible cushions with zip-off, washable covers
  • Assembly is limited to attaching the legs
Cons
  • Seats run firm; the feather wrap does not soften the foam core much
  • Fabric color can differ from photos and look dull in some lighting
  • At 99 inches long and 40 inches deep, it needs a large room
  • Back height is only 16.5 inches, so tall sitters get little upper-back support

Questions and answers

Is the CHITA Keaton sofa worth $1,275.99?
It is a fair price for a 99-inch performance-fabric sofa with a solid ash base and a 900 lb capacity. The price has not moved since October 31, 2026, so waiting for a drop has not paid off so far.
How firm is the seat?
The core is high-density foam with a feather-and-fiber wrap, so it feels supportive rather than sink-in soft. Several owners say it is firmer than expected.
Will the linen fabric stain?
The performance fabric is water-repellent and rated at 20,000 rubs, and owners report spills beading up. Wipe spills promptly; the covers zip off for cleaning.
Does it fit a small living room?
It is 99 inches long and 40 inches deep, so it suits large rooms. Measure your space and doorways before ordering.
What is in the box?
The sofa ships with its ash wood base and legs. Assembly is just attaching the legs.
How does it compare with the brand's other sofas?
The Keaton's differentiators are its 99-inch width, 900 lb capacity and solid ash base. Check seat depth and fabric rub count on other CHITA models, since those vary.
