Our take on the DeWalt 20V MAX Lithium-Ion Cordless Combo Kit and 20V MAX XR Brushless Compact Router

This is a five-piece DeWalt 20V MAX cordless kit bundled with the 20V MAX XR brushless compact router. The tools run on DeWalt's 20V MAX lithium-ion batteries, and the router uses a brushless motor for longer runtime and less maintenance. At $499 at Home Depot as of November 3, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no lower competing offer to compare against right now.

Questions and answers

Is this kit worth $499?
At $499 at Home Depot as of November 3, 2026, you get five 20V MAX tools plus the XR brushless router on one battery system. Compare that against buying the router and the tools you actually need separately before deciding.
Which tools are in the five-piece kit?
The listing names five tools but does not itemize them. Check the kit contents on the product page before buying, since DeWalt bundles vary by kit number.
Does the router come with bits?
No. The XR compact router is sold as a bare tool in this bundle, so plan on buying a router bit set separately.
Are batteries and a charger included?
The listing does not state battery count or charger details. Confirm what is in the box, because combo kits ship with different battery sizes and charger types.
How does the XR router compare to the standard DeWalt compact router?
The XR version uses a brushless motor, which gives longer runtime and better efficiency than a brushed motor. It suits trim work and light profiling rather than heavy production routing.
When is this kit cheapest?
DeWalt combo kits typically drop during holiday sales and spring tool events. Track the price history here and buy when it falls below the recent range.
Where is the DeWalt 20V MAX Lithium-Ion Cordless Combo Kit and 20V MAX XR Brushless Compact Router cheapest?
At Home Depot, for $499.00, as of our latest check.
