Our take on the DEXSO 10 Inch 15 Amp Portable Benchtop Table Saw with Stand

The DEXSO 10 Inch 15 Amp Portable Benchtop Table Saw is a jobsite-style saw with a folding stand, aimed at cutting sheet goods and dimensional lumber away from a shop. The 15 amp motor and 10-inch blade are the standard size for this class, so it handles 2x material and rips in plywood. It is a budget-brand alternative to saws from DeWalt, Bosch and Skilsaw, so check the fence and stand hardware before you commit.

Questions and answers

Is a 15 amp benchtop saw enough for hardwood?
Yes for 1-inch and thinner stock with a sharp, appropriate blade. Feed slowly on thick hard maple or oak, and use a rip blade rather than a combination blade.
How much rip capacity does a saw like this have?
Most 10-inch benchtop saws rip about 24 inches to the right of the blade. Confirm the exact figure before buying if you plan to break down 4x8 sheets.
Can it cut 4x8 plywood sheets?
It can, but a benchtop saw's small table makes full sheets awkward without infeed and outfeed support. A circular saw and straightedge is often easier for the first breakdown.
What blade comes in the box?
Budget benchtop saws usually ship with a general-purpose 40-tooth blade that is fine for framing but not for finish cuts. Plan on a better blade for cabinet work.
Does it work with a dado stack?
Check the arbor length and manual before assuming. Many benchtop saws have short arbors that limit dado stacks to about 1/2 inch.
When is the best time to buy a table saw?
Prices tend to dip around Black Friday, Father's Day and spring building season sales. Track the price history and buy when it sits near the low end of its recent range.
