- Does it need batteries or a power outlet?
- It runs on batteries, so no outlet is needed and you can place it anywhere in the kitchen. Keep spare batteries on hand, since a weak set is a common cause of a sluggish lid.
- What size trash bags fit?
- Standard 13-gallon kitchen bags fit. The tall body leaves some slack at the top, so bags do not pull tight when full.
- Is $79.99 a good price?
- It is the best new price among the 8 stores listing it as of November 6, 2026. Automatic stainless cans in this size often sell for more, so it is a fair deal at $79.99.
- Will the lid open when my dog walks by?
- It can. The sensor reacts to motion in its range, so pets and people passing close to the front may trigger the lid. Placing it against a wall or out of a walkway reduces this.
- How tall is it?
- It stands 35.8 inches high and 10.8 inches wide. Check that height against your counter overhang and cabinet clearance before buying.
- Can I turn the sensor off and use it manually?
- Yes. There is a manual open and close control, so the can still works if the sensor misbehaves or the batteries run low.
