Our take on the Lava Lamp Yellow/Blue 27"

A 27-inch novelty lava lamp with a yellow wax and blue liquid globe on a silver aluminum base. The 100-watt reflector bulb heats the wax so it rises and falls in slow blobs. At $114.99 at Surprise Castle as of November 5, 2026, it is the only new price we can compare, so there is no recent range to judge it against.

Questions and answers

How long does it take to start flowing?
Expect roughly an hour or more from a cold start, since the 100-watt bulb has to heat the wax. It moves faster once the lamp has been on for a while.
What bulb does it use?
A 100-watt reflector light bulb. Replace it with the same type and wattage so the wax heats correctly.
How big is it?
It is 27 inches tall and 10.5 inches wide, so check shelf and table space before buying.
Does it come with the base?
Yes. The silver aluminum base is included with the glass globe.
Is $114.99 a good price?
It is the only new price we can compare as of November 5, 2026, so there is no recent range to judge it against. Compare it with other 27-inch lava lamps before deciding.
Where should I put it?
It suits a living area, bedroom or dorm room. Keep it on a stable surface near an outlet and away from spots where it could be knocked over.
Where is the Lava Lamp Yellow/Blue 27" cheapest?
At Surprise Castle, for $114.99, as of our latest check.
