Our take on the Macy's Radley 74" Fabric Full Sleeper Sofa Bed

The Radley 74" is a full-size sleeper sofa from Macy's, built on a hardwood and pine frame with 100% polyester upholstery, track arms and mocha-finished legs. It folds out to a full memory foam mattress rated for 400 lbs, and the seat cushions are removable and reversible. At 74 inches wide with a 62-inch seat between the arms, it fits small living rooms and guest rooms where a dedicated bed is not an option. It is sold with two 21-inch toss pillows and qualifies for white glove delivery with assembly.

  • Two toss pillows included; legs are removable for tight doorways
Cons
  • Seat cushions reportedly flatten with use
  • 100% polyester fabric shows pilling and stains over time
  • Reports of a strong chemical smell that lingers
  • Delivery complaints: reschedules, no-shows and wrong items
  • Full sleeper mattress is thin; not a substitute for a real bed nightly

Questions and answers

Is the Radley sleeper good for sleeping every night?
It works for occasional guests, not as a primary bed. The full memory foam mattress is thin and sits on a metal mechanism, so most people will want a topper for multi-night stays.
How firm is the seat?
Owners describe it as firm and supportive rather than soft. That suits sitting and reading, but people who want a deep, plush couch may find it stiff.
Will it fit through my door?
The sofa is 74 inches wide and 39 inches deep, so check doorways and stair turns before ordering. The legs are removable, which helps in tight hallways.
What comes in the box?
The sleeper sofa and two 21-inch toss pillows. White glove delivery with assembly is available, so the crew sets it up rather than leaving boxes.
How does it compare with a futon?
It is heavier and more expensive than a futon, but the memory foam mattress and hardwood frame give a more sofa-like seat and a flatter sleep surface.
When is it cheapest?
Macy's furniture goes on sale around major holiday weekends and clearance events. Watch the price history here rather than buying at full list.
