Questions and answers

Is this set worth it for a small apiary?
If you bottle honey in 16-ounce jars and want a distinctive shape, 12 jars with lids covers a modest harvest. Compare the per-jar price against plain straight-sided mason jars, which stack better and cost less.
Are the jars really 16 ounces?
Yes, each jar is listed at 16 ounces, a common honey jar size. Fill to the shoulder rather than the brim to leave headspace for the lid.
Can I put these in the dishwasher?
No. The set is listed as not dishwasher safe, so wash by hand in warm water. Hot cycles can cloud glass and wear the lid coating.
Do the lids seal for shipping honey?
The lids are described as airtight, which is fine for local sales and gifts. For shipping, add a shrink band or tape the lid, since metal lids can loosen in transit.
What is in the box?
You get 12 glass jars and 12 metal lids, 24 pieces total. Labels are not included; the jars only have blank areas for them.
When is the price lowest?
Canning and beekeeping supplies often dip in late winter, before the spring harvest season. Check the price history chart for this set and buy below its recent range.
