Questions and answers

Is this stool worth it over a basic wooden bar stool?
If you want padding, armrests and a swivel, it offers more comfort than a plain wooden stool. A basic stool costs less and is easier to move, so the choice comes down to comfort versus simplicity.
Will the arms fit under my counter?
Armrests raise the effective height and width, so check your counter overhang and clearance before buying. Measure the stool's arm height against the underside of your counter.
Does it swivel a full 360 degrees?
Swivel bar stools of this type typically rotate a full turn, but confirm the spec on the listing you buy from. The swivel mechanism is the main wear point, so check it on arrival.
What seat height should I pick?
Counter stools are usually around 24 to 26 inches and bar-height stools around 28 to 30 inches. Match the seat height to your counter so your knees clear the underside.
How is it assembled?
It ships unassembled and needs the legs, ring and seat bolted together, usually with the included hardware. Set aside time and a second pair of hands, since owners report assembly is the fiddly part.
When is it cheapest?
Furniture pricing swings with sales events and clearance on older finishes. Compare across stores and watch for seasonal furniture sales rather than buying at first sight.
