Is the Ryobi 7-1/4 in. sliding miter saw worth it?
For trim, shelving and light framing it covers most cuts at a low price. If you regularly cut 4x4s or need right-side bevels, a 10 in. or 12 in. saw is a better fit.
How is it different from a non-sliding miter saw?
The sliding rails let the head travel forward, so it crosscuts wider boards than a fixed 7-1/4 in. saw. It also takes up more bench depth.
Does it bevel both ways?
No. Bevel adjustment goes from 0 to 45 degrees left only. For right-side bevels you flip the workpiece or use a different saw.
What is the maximum cut depth?
Ryobi lists a cutting thickness of about 3-3/8 in. and a cutting depth of about 29 in. for the sliding capacity. Check the board size against those figures before buying.
What comes in the box?
