Our take on the Sealy Posturepedic Hybrid Haslett 13" Tight Top Mattress Set

The Sealy Posturepedic Hybrid Haslett 13" Tight Top is a medium-firm hybrid mattress that pairs gel foam and memory foam over PrecisionFit coils, with a reinforced DuraFlex coil edge. It comes in a queen (60" x 80") and is compatible with adjustable bases. The mattress alone is sold separately from the box spring, so a set costs more than the mattress by itself. It suits sleepers who want a traditional tight-top feel with coil support rather than an all-foam bed.

Pros
  • Medium firmness suits a wide range of sleepers
  • Gel foam and memory foam add pressure relief over coils
  • Reinforced coil edge holds up when sitting on the side
  • Works with adjustable beds
  • Surface-Guard and MoistureProtect treatments
  • Made in the USA of imported and domestic parts
Cons
  • Box spring sold separately, so the set costs more
  • 13-inch profile is tall and needs deep sheets
  • Medium feel may be too soft for some heavy back sleepers
  • Only 6 ratings, so reception is thin

Questions and answers

Is the box spring included?
No. The mattress-only option ships without a foundation. Set options add either a standard-profile or low-profile box spring.
Will it work on an adjustable base?
Yes. Sealy lists the Haslett as compatible with adjustable beds.
How firm is it?
It is rated medium. Expect a supportive feel with some cushioning from the gel and memory foams, not a plush pillow top.
What size is this?
The listed size is 60 inches wide by 80 inches long, a queen, with a 13-inch profile.
Does it need a box spring?
It can go on a box spring or an adjustable base. A foundation is sold separately, so budget for it.
When is it cheapest?
Mattress sets typically drop during holiday sales and clearance events. Check the price history before buying.
