Top pick: Milwaukee 3699-22 M18 FUEL 2-Tool Combo Kit — the newest-generation M18 FUEL drill/driver pair, batteries included, and the highest-rated kit here. Best balance of power, size and price for a first serious kit.

Who the others suit:

3697-22 M18 FUEL 2-Tool — the proven classic; pick it if you want the most-reviewed, most familiar version.
M12 FUEL hammer drill + impact kit — for cabinet, electrical and overhead work where light weight matters more than raw torque.
2696-24 / 2696-26 M18 kits — for someone outfitting a whole shop or truck in one go.
M12 FUEL 3497-22 — a compact, budget-friendly starter set.

Note: none of these is a bundle with a genuinely free extra battery — the batteries are the ones in the kit, so treat any "free battery" promo as a store-level offer to confirm at checkout.
