Is the Spin 714 worth the extra $210 over the 714?

Only if you will use tablet mode or the fingerprint reader. The CPU, RAM, storage and screen resolution are the same, so you are paying for the hinge and touch input, not speed.

Which is better for school or note-taking?

The Spin 714, because the 360-degree hinge and touchscreen let you fold it flat and write or draw on screen. The 714 is a plain clamshell with no pen-friendly posture.

Do both have the same processor and memory?

Yes. Both list the Intel Core Ultra 7 155U with 12 cores, 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 256 GB SSD, so everyday Chrome OS performance should be close.

Both are listed at 3.2 lb. The convertible hinge does not show up as extra weight in these listings.

Which lasts longer on a charge?

Neither listing gives a battery capacity or runtime figure, so there is no stated difference. Expect similar endurance since the internals match.

Can I use a stylus on either?

Both have touchscreens, but only the Spin's convertible design makes on-screen writing practical. Check the listing for pen support before buying.
