Questions and answers
- Which is better for a bedroom?
- The Vornado 80X. It runs under 32 dB and has a 1-12 hour timer, so it can run quietly overnight and shut itself off.
- Which moves more air?
- The Air King 20". It is rated up to 2163 cfm, while the Vornado is rated at 1,700 FPM of velocity, a different measure that does not translate to a higher cfm figure.
- Which lasts longer?
- Neither maker publishes a service life figure. The Air King has fewer parts to fail (a rotary switch, no display or timer), while the Vornado's digital board and timer are the parts most likely to need service.
- Is the Vornado worth the extra?
- Only if quiet operation, a timer and a tilting head matter to you. If you just need to move air in a garage or shop, the Air King does that for less.
- Can either be wall or window mounted?
- No. Both are floor-placement fans. The Vornado head tilts, but neither mounts to a wall or window.
- How much did the Air King cost recently?
- Its lowest recorded daily price was $51.34 as of October 30, 2026. Check the current price and store on this page.
