Which is better for gaming?

On paper they match: same 1920x1200 screen, NVIDIA GPU, 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD. The 2K model has the better rating, 4.3 versus 3.4, so it is the safer pick unless the standard model is near $935.00.

Is the standard model worth the extra at full price?

No. At its $1,699.00 high it costs far more than the 2K's $1,049.99 while rating lower. Only the $935.00 low makes it the better value.

Neither listing gives battery life or build ratings beyond weight. The 2K is 0.1 lb lighter, and its higher rating is the only durability signal here.

Do they have the same screen?

Yes. Both are 15.3 inches at 1920x1200, despite the 2K name on the higher-rated model.

Which has the better keyboard?

The standard model lists a backlit keyboard; the 2K model does not list one. If backlighting matters, confirm it on the 2K before buying.

Which should I buy at current prices?

The 2K at $1,049.99 as of October 28, unless the standard model is close to $935.00. Above that, you pay more for a lower-rated laptop.

Alienware 15.3" 2K Gaming Laptop vs Alienware 15.3" Gaming Laptop

Both are 15.3-inch Alienware gaming laptops with the same 1920x1200 screen, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD and NVIDIA graphics. The 2K model is the better-reviewed machine (4.3 vs 3.4 stars) and weighs slightly less, while the standard model has swung between $935.00 and $1,699.00 since November 1 and the 2K sits at $1,049.99 as of October 28. Buy the 2K if you want the higher-rated unit; buy the standard model only if you find it near its $935.00 low, since at full price it costs more than the 2K for a lower rating.
