Which is better for a family of five?

The Hamilton Beach. Its 6 qt oval pot holds more food, and it costs less. The Beautiful lists up to 5.3 qt and serves up to 7 people by its own count, but the Hamilton Beach gives more headroom for roasts and leftovers.

Is the Beautiful worth the extra $14?

Only if you want the digital display, preset times and lid holder. The Hamilton Beach cooks the same way with a dial and holds 2 more quarts for less money.

Which one is easier to clean?

Both have dishwasher-safe stoneware crocks and glass lids. The Beautiful adds a lid holder, which keeps the counter cleaner while you serve.

Can the Hamilton Beach fit a whole chicken?

Yes. Its oval 6 qt shape fits a whole chicken or a large roast better than the round 4 qt Beautiful pot.

Neither has a clear edge on durability. The Hamilton Beach comes with a one-year warranty; the Beautiful listing states no warranty, so check the retailer's return policy.

Do either have a keep-warm setting?

The Hamilton Beach has a warm setting on its dial. The Beautiful uses preset cooking times on its touch display; check the manual for a dedicated warm mode.
