Which is better for pet stains on a couch?

Both are built for upholstery and pet messes. The HydroSteam adds a powered scrubbing brush, which helps on dried or set-in stains. The original Little Green relies on spray, scrub and suction by hand.

Is the HydroSteam worth the extra money?

If you regularly fight set-in stains, the scrubbing brush and 15-foot cord are real advantages. For occasional fresh spills, the original Little Green does the same core job for less.

Which one is easier to carry up stairs?

The HydroSteam weighs 9.7 lb and has no wheels, so you carry it. The original Little Green is also marketed as lightweight, but its weight is not listed here.

Do both hold the same amount of water?

Yes, both list a 48 fl oz tank. The HydroSteam splits that into separate removable clean and dirty tanks, which makes emptying simpler.

Which has stronger suction?

Neither lists a suction figure. Reviewers of the HydroSteam say it could use stronger suction, so do not expect a big edge there.

There is no reliability data for either. The original Little Green has the longer track record with 29,460 ratings, but that measures popularity, not lifespan.
