Which is better for pet hair?

Both target pet hair. The Shark's self-cleaning brushroll resists hair wrap, which matters on carpet. The bObsweep's dual-brush system and 4500 Pa suction handle hair on hard floors and rugs.

Which is better on carpet?

The Shark Matrix. Its Matrix Clean makes multiple passes and its HEPA filter traps fine dust. The bObsweep is built around hard floors and mopping, with a 12.5-inch cleaning width.

Is the bObsweep worth the extra over the Shark?

It is actually cheaper: $159.99 at eBay versus $174.99 at Kohl's as of November 7, 2026. You pay less and get mopping, but you give up HEPA filtration and a bagless base.

Do I have to buy bags for the bObsweep?

Yes. The auto-empty station seals debris in a 3.5-liter activated charcoal-lined bag, and two reusable bags come in the box. The Shark's base is bagless.

Which has better mapping?

Both use LiDAR. The bObsweep saves multiple floor maps and lets you draw NoSweep and NoMop zones. The Shark adds object detection to steer around obstacles.

Which lasts longer per charge?

The bObsweep lists 150 minutes of battery life. Shark does not publish a runtime for the Matrix, so the bObsweep is the only one you can compare on paper.
