Are these two listings the same planer?

Yes. The 15 Amp, 13-inch, 20,000 RPM specs match the DW735X, and the first listing names the DW735X as a supported model. Buy the cheaper one, but confirm the model number and box contents before checkout.

Which is better for a small shop?

Either, since it is the same machine. The kit with the mobile stand is easier to store and roll away; the bare unit is lighter to lift onto a bench but you will need to build or buy a stand.

Does the DW735X leave snipe?

Snipe is common on benchtop planers, but the automatic carriage lock on this model reduces it. Feed boards end to end and take light passes to limit it further.

Is the straight-knife head good enough, or should I get a helical head?

The straight knives are fine for most work and cheaper to replace. A helical head cuts quieter and handles figured grain better, but it is an aftermarket upgrade that costs a few hundred dollars.

How long does it last?

Many owners get years of service, but some reviews report shaking and clanking after about three years. Check the cutter head alignment and knife condition when it arrives, and keep the receipt for warranty claims.

Is one worth extra money?

Only if the extra buys the stand, feed tables and knives in the box. For the planer alone, pay the lower price; the machine is identical.

DeWalt 15 Amp 13 in. Corded Heavy-Duty Thickness Planer with Knives, In/Out Feed Tables and Mobile Stand vs DeWalt DW735X 13-Inch Thickness Planer

Both listings are the same machine: the DeWalt DW735X 13-inch thickness planer, sold with knives, in/out feed tables and a mobile stand. The 15 Amp, 20,000 RPM motor, 13-inch width and 1/8-inch max depth are the DW735X's specs, so there is no performance difference to weigh. Buy whichever listing is cheaper and ships from a store you trust; check both prices on Deal.ai before checkout.
