Which is better for printing photos at home?

The ET-8550. It prints borderless photos up to 13 x 19 in six colors on photo paper. The F370 prints sublimation transfer sheets that only show their image after heat pressing onto fabric or coated blanks.

Can the F370 print normal documents?

No. It is a dye-sublimation printer, so its output is transfer paper for heat pressing. For letters, scans and copies you need a machine like the ET-8550.

Is the ET-8550 worth $599.99?

If you print wide-format photos regularly, yes. Refill bottles bring a 4 x 6 photo to about 4 cents, and the built-in scanner and copier replace two other devices. Casual printers who print a few pages a month will not recover the price.

The F370's sublimation output is fused into polyester and coated blanks, so it survives washing far better than a dye print on paper. The ET-8550's prints are fine framed or in albums but fade faster in direct sun.

Do I need extra equipment for the F370?

Yes. You need a heat press, sublimation blanks and transfer paper. The ET-8550 needs only paper and ink.

Which is cheaper to run?

The ET-8550 on paper: about 4 cents per 4 x 6 photo from bottles. The F370's cost per item depends on blank and transfer sheet, and its $999.00 price at HeatPressNation as of November 3, 2026 is the higher entry cost.
