- Which is better for printing T-shirts?
- The F370. Its 13-inch width lets you print full-size shirt panels in one pass. The F170 tops out at 8.5 inches wide, so large shirt fronts need piecing or a smaller design.
- Is the F370 worth the extra $600?
- Only if you sell wide products. At $999.00 versus $398.98 as of November 3, 2026, the F370 pays off on shirts, towels and photo panels. For mugs and small awards, the F170 does the same job for less.
- Which one can I get sooner?
- The F170. It is in stock at 10 stores as of November 3, 2026. The F370 is on pre-order with an expected January 2027 ship date.
- Do both use the same ink?
- No. The F370 uses Epson T49M bottles, 140 mL each, included in the box. The F170 uses Epson dye-sublimation ink bottles in CMYK. Both are genuine Epson inks, but the bottle types differ.
- Which lasts longer?
- Both are built on Epson PrecisionCore printheads and carry a one-year limited warranty on the F370. Longevity depends on volume and maintenance more than on the model, so neither is clearly more durable.
- Can I print from a phone on either?
- Only the F370. It supports Wi-Fi Direct and mobile printing. The F170 lists wireless and Ethernet networking but no mobile printing.
