Which is better for pet hair on carpet?

The Eureka's 960 W motor and 5-height brush roll are built for deep carpet cleaning, and the pet turbo tool is included. The Dreame's DuoBrush is rated anti-tangle for hair up to 11.8 in, but it is a robot with less contact pressure on thick pile.

Is the Dreame worth about $900 more?

Only if you value not vacuuming yourself. It adds mopping, self-emptying and self-washing, which the Eureka cannot do at any price. If you just want clean carpets cheaply, the Eureka does that for under $100.

Which handles stairs?

The Eureka. At about 10 lbs with a 2.1 ft hose it is awkward but usable on stairs. The Dreame robot cannot climb stairs; its retractable legs only clear obstacles up to 2.36 in.

The Eureka is rated 88 dB, which is loud. Dreame does not publish a dB figure but claims minimal noise when the legs climb; robot vacuums generally run quieter than a 960 W upright.

Does either filter allergens well?

The Eureka is HEPA-certified with a foam filter, which helps trap fine dust. Dreame does not state a HEPA rating for the X50 Ultra, so the Eureka is the safer pick for allergy-focused buyers.

Neither maker publishes a lifespan figure. The Eureka has fewer parts and no battery; the Dreame's battery (6,400 mAh) and base station add wear items over years of use.
