Which is better for a laundromat run?

The Joseph Joseph Hold-All. The shoulder strap and collapsible body make it easier to carry and stash between trips. The Sterilite is roomier but rigid.

Which holds more laundry?

The Sterilite. Its 2 bushel capacity is roughly 70 L, well above the Joseph Joseph's 35 to 45 L. Pick it for a family's weekly wash.

Is the Joseph Joseph worth the extra $14?

Only if you need folding and a shoulder strap. If the basket stays in one room, the Sterilite does the same job for $24.87 at Walmart as of November 8, 2026.

The Sterilite's molded plastic and reinforced rim resist wear and moisture better over years. The Joseph Joseph's fabric and strap are the parts that wear first.

Can I use either for damp clothes?

Yes, with care. The Joseph Joseph has a waterproof base and moisture-resistant interior; the Sterilite vents damp clothes through its hole pattern. Neither should hold soaking wet laundry.

Which is better for a dorm?

The Sterilite, for capacity and price, if you have floor space. The Joseph Joseph wins if you haul laundry down halls and need to fold it away.
