Which is better for gaming?

The Alienware m18 R2 has the stronger CPU, more RAM and a sharper 2560x1600 screen. The Lenovo LOQ names a current RTX 5050 with 8GB GDDR7, so check the Alienware's exact GPU before buying if frame rate matters most.

Which is easier to carry?

The Lenovo LOQ at 6.4 lb is two pounds lighter than the 8.6 lb Alienware m18 R2. Neither is a light laptop, but the Lenovo is the more portable of the two.

Is the Alienware worth the extra money?

At $1,038.07 at Antonline as of November 7, 2026, it buys double the RAM and storage, a 24-core i9 and a higher-resolution screen. That is good value if you need the power; the Lenovo makes more sense if you do not.

Which has more storage?

The Alienware m18 R2 has a 2TB SSD; the Lenovo LOQ has a 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD. Both are solid-state.

Does either have a high-refresh screen?

Lenovo's product page lists the LOQ panel at 165Hz, though a 60Hz figure also appears in its listing. The Alienware's refresh rate is not stated.

Which lasts longer on a charge?

Neither listing gives battery capacity or runtime. The Alienware's larger, higher-resolution screen and 24-core CPU likely draw more power, but confirm with real battery tests.
