Which is better for watching movies?

The LG. It is a 4K Mini LED TV with Dolby Vision, HDR10 and Filmmaker Mode at up to 100 inches. The Switch tops out at 1080p on a 7-inch screen.

Which is better for gaming?

It depends on the games. The LG supports 120 Hz, VRR, ALLM and FreeSync Premium for consoles and PCs. The Switch bundle is the only way to play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but it outputs 1080p at most.

Is the LG worth the extra money?

If you need a big screen, yes. At $629.99 at Walmart as of November 3, 2026, it costs far more than the Switch bundle's recent $85.00 low, but it is a completely different product class.

Does the Switch bundle include games?

Yes. It includes Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership, plus two controllers.

How long will each last?

Both should last years with normal use. The LG has no moving parts beyond the panel; the Switch's battery and Joy-Cons are the parts most likely to wear.

Can I use them together?

Yes. The Switch docks to a TV over HDMI, so the LG can display Switch games at 1080p. They complement each other rather than compete.
