Questions and answers

Which is better for watching TV?
The LG S40T. It connects over HDMI ARC or optical, decodes Dolby Digital and adds a wireless subwoofer. The XG2T has only Bluetooth and 5 W of power.
Can the XG2T replace a soundbar?
No. At 5 W from one 1.5-inch woofer it cannot fill a room or produce real bass. It is for personal listening outdoors or in small spaces.
Which lasts longer?
The XG2T runs up to 10 hours per charge; the S40T has no battery and runs as long as it has power. For lifespan of the hardware, neither has a published figure.
Is the S40T worth the extra money?
Yes if you want TV sound. At $99.00 at eBay as of November 4, 2026 it costs about $84 more than the XG2T's $14.99, and it delivers far more power, bass and inputs.
Does either support voice assistants?
The S40T lists Alexa support and the XG2T lists Google Assistant and Siri, but neither has a built-in microphone listed. Treat both as pass-through or app-level support, not built-in voice control.
Can I use the XG2T outdoors?
It is listed as suitable for outdoor use and weighs 280 g, but no water-resistance rating is given. Keep it out of rain.
