Questions and answers

Are the M4-2.0 Elite and M4-2.0 Ultra the same machine?
Yes. The specs match on the Smith bar, pulleys, 34 adjustment holes, 20-inch safety arms and included accessories. They differ in name, store and rating count.
Which is better for a garage gym?
Either one. The frame is about 87.5 inches tall, 71 inches long and 74.8 inches wide, so measure ceiling height and floor space before ordering. Owners say it fits a garage well.
Is the Smith machine strong enough for heavy lifting?
The Smith bar is rated to 800 lbs and the safety arms to 600 lbs. That covers most home lifters, but check your heaviest squat and bench against those numbers.
Which should I buy if I care about returns?
The Ultra at Amazon, since its return process is simpler for a heavy freight item. Both cost $999.99 as of November 5, 2026, so you pay nothing extra for that convenience.
How long does assembly take?
Owners report several hours and many small steps, and recommend a second person. Some parts look alike but are not, so sort the bumpers and springs before you start.
Is the cable trainer good for lat pulldowns?
Yes. It uses a 2:1 pulley system rated to 500 lbs, and the top-mounted pulleys give a longer stretch at the top of lat pulldowns.
