Which is better for students?

The Surface Laptop 5 is the safer pick for students on a budget: $495.00 gets a 15-inch screen, 16 GB RAM and a real keyboard. The Surface Pro 11th Edition is lighter and more flexible but costs $1,499.00 before a keyboard cover.

Which has better battery life?

The Surface Laptop 5 is rated up to 17-18 hours, while the Surface Pro 11th Edition is rated up to 14 hours of video and about 10 hours of web use. Real-world results depend on brightness and workload.

Is the Surface Pro 11th Edition worth the extra money?

Only if you need tablet mode, an OLED screen, Wi-Fi 7 or 5G. Otherwise the Laptop 5 covers everyday work for far less.

Does the Surface Pro 11th Edition come with a keyboard?

No. The Type Cover keyboard is sold separately, so add that cost when comparing it to the Laptop 5's built-in keyboard.

Which is lighter to carry?

The Surface Pro 11th Edition tablet weighs about 2 lb (32 oz), versus 3.4 lb for the Laptop 5. Adding the keyboard cover narrows the gap.
