Questions and answers
- Which is better for pulling autographs?
- The Hobby Box. It averages 3 autographs per box. The Mega Box only has randomly inserted autographs, so many boxes have none.
- Is the Hobby Box worth the extra money?
- If you want autographs and low-numbered parallels, yes. At $259.99 versus about $39.99, you pay roughly 6.5 times more for 2.4 times the cards plus guaranteed hits.
- Which has better odds at rare parallels?
- The Hobby Box has more Prizms per box (24 versus 18) and Hobby-only Plum Blossom #/8 and Cherry Blossom #/20. The Mega Box has its own short prints, including Green Scope #/8.
- Which is better for a set builder?
- The Hobby Box. 144 cards gives you far more base to build the set, and 24 Prizms toward the parallel rainbow.
- Which is better for a casual rip?
- The Mega Box. 60 cards for about $39.99 is a low-risk way to open current Prizm.
- Do both boxes have the same inserts?
- No. Hobby has Fireworks, Kaleidoscopic, Brilliance, Prizm Break and Collegiate Stars. Mega has retail-only Deep Space, New Recruits, Fearless and Global Reach.
