Which is better for an expensive lighter?

The Lotus 8290. Its 99.9999% purity claim and near-zero residue spec make it the safer choice for a premium lighter. The Neon is fine for everyday refills but only claims 11x refinement.

Which gives more fuel for the money?

The Neon 11X. At $19.99 for three 300 ml cans you get about 900 ml, roughly 2 cents per ml. The Lotus at $2.99 for 90 ml is about 3 cents per ml.

Is the Lotus worth it if the Neon is cheaper per ounce?

Yes, if you value purity over volume. The Lotus costs more per ml but claims a cleaner burn that can extend lighter life. If you refill often, the Neon pack is the better value.

Do both fit standard lighter refill valves?

Both are butane in standard canisters with refill nozzles, so they fit most refillable lighters. Check your lighter's valve type before buying a large can.

How long does each last?

A 90 ml Lotus can refills a typical lighter several times. The Neon's 300 ml cans last about three times as long per can, and the pack holds three of them.

Which has better ratings?

The Lotus rates slightly higher at 4.7 out of 5 from 51 ratings, versus 4.5 out of 5 from 218 ratings for the Neon. The Neon has a much larger rating base.
