Which filters better, Nordic Pure or Aerostar?

Aerostar, on paper. It is rated MERV 13 throughout, while the Nordic Pure listing says MERV 13 in the name, MERV 8 in the specs and MERV 14 in the description. Confirm the rating printed on the Nordic Pure box before relying on it.

Which is cheaper per filter?

Aerostar. At $80.73 for 6 at AeroStar as of November 7, 2026, that is about $13.46 each. Nordic Pure is $84.99 for 3 at Amazon, about $28.33 each.

Will a MERV 13 filter strain my furnace?

MERV 13 is a common upgrade and usually fine on modern systems. Aerostar lists 0.35 in wc initial resistance, which is moderate. If your blower is weak or the filter slot is restrictive, step down to MERV 11.

Do these fit a 24x30x2 slot?

Check actual size, not nominal. Aerostar's actual size is 23 7/8 x 29 7/8 x 1 3/4 in, so it sits slightly loose in a true 2 in slot. Nordic Pure does not state an actual size, so measure your old filter first.

How often should I change them?

Nordic Pure recommends every 30 to 90 days. Aerostar does not give an interval, but the same 30 to 90 day rule applies, and closer to 30 days with pets, heavy dust or a MERV 13 load.

Is the Nordic Pure worth the extra money?

Not on price or clarity. You pay more per filter for a 3-pack with an inconsistent MERV rating. Buy it only if you need the 3-pack size or the extra store availability.

Nordic Pure 24x30x2 MERV 13 Filters vs Aerostar 24x30x2 MERV 13 Air Filter

Buy the Aerostar if you want MERV 13 filtration at the lowest price: $80.73 for a 6-pack at AeroStar as of November 7, 2026, versus $84.99 for a 3-pack of Nordic Pure at Amazon. The Nordic Pure listing is muddled on MERV rating, so treat it as the weaker choice for particle filtration. Aerostar wins on both price per filter and stated rating.
