Questions and answers

Which has better noise cancelling?
The Nothing Ear (a). It rates its adaptive ANC at up to 45 dB and adjusts for noise leakage. Soundcore does not publish a dB figure for the Space A40.
Is the Nothing Ear (a) worth the extra money?
If you stream hi-res audio or fly often, yes: LDAC, stronger ANC and faster charging are real gains. For casual listening, the Space A40 at $39.99 covers the basics for half the price.
Which lasts longer on a charge?
The Space A40 is close per charge (up to 10 hours versus 9.5) and wins overall with up to 50 hours in the case versus 42.5 for the Nothing.
Can I use either for workouts?
Both are water resistant, but the Nothing's IP54 also covers dust, which suits gyms and outdoors better. Neither is rated for swimming.
Which is better for calls?
The Nothing uses multiple microphones with Clear Voice Technology. The Space A40 has no published call-noise spec, so the Nothing is the safer pick for frequent calls.
Do both connect to two devices at once?
Yes. The Nothing Ear (a) pairs with two devices over Bluetooth 5.3, and the Space A40 offers multipoint on Bluetooth 5.2.
