What reviewers say
Prism 90lb X 65 ft Spectra Stunt Kite Line Set
Spectra line sets like this are generally well regarded for their low stretch and crisp kite response. Owners of Prism kites tend to rate the included straps and winder as adequate rather than premium.
Pros
- Fast, direct response from low-stretch Spectra
- Pre-sleeved, color-coded lines simplify setup
- Complete set with straps and winder
Cons
- Card winder is fiddly for winding 65 ft of line
- Little stretch means crashes hit the kite harder
- Light rating for stronger winds
Questions and answers
- Are these two line sets actually different?
- No. Both are Prism 65 ft sets of 90 lb braided Dyneema, and Spectra is a brand name for Dyneema fiber. Buy the cheaper listing.
- Is 90 lb line strong enough for a stunt kite?
- Yes for most dual-line stunt kites in light to moderate wind. Step up to a heavier line set for strong wind or kites over roughly 2 meters.
- How long do these lines last?
- Braided Dyneema holds up for seasons of normal use. Replace them when you see fraying, cuts or uneven stretch between the two lines.
- Do the lines come ready to fly?
- Yes. They are precision-measured, sleeved and color-coded, and the set includes flight straps and a winder. You still need the kite itself.
- Can I use this set on a foil kite or a single-line kite?
- It is meant for dual-line stunt kites. A single-line kite needs only one line, and large foil kites need heavier line than 90 lb.
