Which set is better for painting miniatures?

Both are made for miniatures. The Fanatic Mega Set covers more ground out of the box with washes, metallics and skin tones. Pro Acryl gives you more paint per bottle and matched brush and airbrush behavior.

Which gives more paint for the money?

The Fanatic Mega Set. At $139.99 for 50 bottles it works out to about $2.80 per bottle. The Pro Acryl set at $95.00 works out to about $3.96 per 22ml bottle.

Do I need to buy extra metallics with Pro Acryl?

Yes. The Base Set is all non-metallic colors. Pro Acryl sells its metallics in a separate Metallic Set.

Is the Fanatic Mega Set worth the extra $44.99?

If you want washes, metallics, effects and a paint station in one purchase, yes. If you mainly want large bottles of core matte colors for brush and airbrush, the Pro Acryl set covers that for less.

Which is better for airbrushing?

Pro Acryl. It is formulated to give the same consistency and coverage thinned for an airbrush as with a brush. The Fanatic line is not marketed for airbrush use.

Pro Acryl gives you 528ml of paint in total against 900ml in the Fanatic set. The Fanatic set lasts longer overall, but each Pro Acryl bottle holds more.
