Questions and answers
- Which is better for gaming?
- The Galaxy S23. Its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy holds frame rates better under load than the S24 FE's Exynos chip. The S24 FE's larger screen helps, but the S23 wins on sustained performance.
- Which lasts longer?
- The Galaxy S24 FE. It is new, has a 1-year warranty and Samsung promises seven years of OS updates. The used S23 has an unknown battery and no warranty.
- Is the S24 FE worth the extra money?
- Yes if the gap is small. You get a new unit, a warranty, a bigger 120Hz screen and longer software support. Skip it if the S23 is much cheaper and you only need a basic phone.
- Does the S24 FE have a headphone jack or microSD slot?
- No. It has USB-C only and 128GB of fixed storage. The S23 also lacks both, so this is not a reason to pick one over the other.
- Is the used S23 safe to buy with scratches and unknown battery health?
- It can be, if the price reflects the wear. Budget for a battery replacement and a screen protector. Ask the seller for a battery health reading before you pay.
- Which has the better camera?
- They are close. The S24 FE has a 50MP main camera and Galaxy AI photo tools. The S23's Snapdragon chip processes photos faster, but the S24 FE's newer software features give it an edge for most shoppers.
